Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Education Assistant - SEMH to join our team at Suffolk One Sixth Form College. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Job Description:

As an Education Assistant - SEMH, you will be responsible for providing high-quality academic and pastoral support to students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and deliver tailored interventions and ensure students' academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective pastoral support plans to meet individual students' needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver Trauma-Informed Schools strategies and promote a positive school culture.
  • Contribute to Annual Reviews and assess student progress, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work with Family Support Workers to build strong home-school partnerships and enhance student outcomes.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and maintain up-to-date student risk profiles for off-site activities.
  • Provide first aid and administer medication in accordance with school guidelines.

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH or similar needs.
  • A creative approach to problem-solving and delivering interventions.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and inclusive education is an advantage.

Salary: £25,119 - £27,334 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience), actual salary £21,322.23 per annum.
