Job Overview


Fife Council is seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Home Carer Night Link. This role involves providing care at home to vulnerable individuals in the community, working as part of a double-up team within the Associated Services Team.


About the Role


This position requires the successful candidate to work a home care rota at night, assisting service users with their daily needs. You will also respond to Community Alarm/Telecare activations, providing support to vulnerable individuals in their own homes.


Key Responsibilities


The successful applicant will be responsible for:



  • Providing high-quality care to service users in their own homes
  • Responding to Community Alarm/Telecare activations
  • Working collaboratively with Health and Social Care Partnership colleagues and other agencies
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or issues

Requirements and Qualifications


To be considered for this role, you must have:



  • A current driving licence (you will drive Council vehicles)
  • SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards
  • Previous Care at Home experience or awareness of the National Care Standards
  • A positive, caring attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to undertake tasks associated with the role

Training and Development

PVG Scheme and Registration


The successful applicant will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. Additionally, SSSC registration is required for this role.


Salary and Benefits


The estimated salary for this role is £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience. Fife Council offers a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme, annual leave, and flexible working arrangements.
