About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to fill the position of Training Programme Director for Dental Core Training. This role is a critical part of the Dental Education Reform Programme, and the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of dental education in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Induction and support of trainees
  • Leadership and management of the training programme
  • Delivery of education and training to dental core trainees
  • Recruitment and selection of trainees
  • Quality control and assessment of trainees
  • Management of the educational supervisor team
  • Attendance at DCT Board and Strategy Planning meetings
  • Development and implementation of innovative pathways for dental education

Requirements
  • Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)
  • Primary dental healthcare qualification
  • Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context
  • Knowledge of the NHS, its structures and processes, including an understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and an ability to influence and motivate others
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
