Job Summary
Laboratory Operations Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Operations Specialist to support our laboratory operations team at our Harwell facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, performing quality checks on consumables, maintaining compliance to regulations, and supporting the laboratory manager in maintaining laboratory equipment.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Support strategic lab operations objectives: Assist in implementing objectives set by senior leadership and ensure seamless operation of laboratory processes.">
  • Inventory management: Manage inventory by stocking and cataloging products, ensuring that supplies are ordered and replenished as needed.">
  • Quality control: Perform quality checks on consumables to ensure they meet company standards.">
  • Compliance and training: Maintain compliance with regulations and training to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).">
  • Laboratory equipment maintenance: Support the laboratory manager in maintaining laboratory equipment.">
  • Specimen storage: Ensure proper storage of specimens at the appropriate temperature and location within the clinical biomarker laboratory.">
  • Cleaning and decontamination: Actively participate in cleaning and decontamination of laboratory surfaces and equipment.">
  • Waste management: Participate in waste management to ensure segregation according to the waste SOP.">
">Requirements and Qualifications:">

This role requires a Bachelor's degree preferred and minimum 2 years of relevant experience in CRO, biomedical institution or pharmaceutical. Knowledge of clinical laboratory material and specimen management is preferred. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel and an aptitude for learning new digital tools is required.
