Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team on a fixed-term contract basis. The successful candidate will provide general advice on legal issues across the business, including Jupiter's funds, general contractual undertakings, and legal/regulatory matters related to our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with other members of the team, Product Structuring, Compliance, Operations, and other departments on matters relating to the group's UCITS mutual fund franchise, contractual arrangements, and general legal/regulatory matters.
  • Reviewing contracts related to Jupiter's wider business and providing legal advice to best satisfy business requirements.
  • Obtaining advice from external advisers as appropriate and liaising with internal departments.
  • Advising on and assisting the business to comply with regulatory requirements working closely with the Compliance Department.
  • Providing legal support on ad hoc projects as required.
  • Assisting the other members of the Legal Department in maintaining and growing its know-how and precedent base.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE, having qualified within a leading City or local law firm.
  • Financial services experience, ideally within the asset management team of a leading City or local law firm.
  • Working knowledge of UCITS, AIFMD, and MiFID.
  • Practical, first-hand experience of working in and across international markets.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiating skills.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with internal partners and external providers.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and to work to deadlines.
  • Strong team player who seeks and gives empowerment.
  • Flexible, positive, and approachable with a pragmatic approach.
  • Strong computer and technical skills and know-how.
