Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Legal & General Group. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and support to our Asset Management division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide robust legal advice to the business in relation to corporate/M&A transactions and negotiate, execute and manage transactions in close connection with external counsel.
  • Deliver advice to a high standard within timeframes required by the business and in a manner that meets commercial needs.
  • Identify and drive process change within the legal team and the wider business.
  • Advise, coach and assist deal teams in managing legal matters and provide/facilitate training to internal stakeholders to support self-service/self-resolution where possible.
Requirements:
  • Qualified solicitor (or a solicitor or attorney qualified in another jurisdiction) with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience within a leading law firm or in-house.
  • Detailed knowledge of the relevant statutory, regulatory and common laws including those applicable to the field of corporate law in a major financial services group.
  • Familiarity with funds transactions, private equity and/or energy/infrastructure transactions highly desirable.
