About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join our team at Woodside Park, part of Acorn Education. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the whole school responsibility for Teaching and Learning, ensuring the best possible curriculum offer, provision, well-being, progress, and achievement for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the school's curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, challenging, and relevant to the needs of all pupils.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and developing strategies to address any gaps in provision.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure that teaching and learning practices are of the highest quality, and that pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to ensure that pupils receive the best possible support and guidance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures, ensuring that they are aligned with the school's vision and values.
Requirements
  • QTS or QTLS qualification.
  • Nationally Recognised Degree.
  • NPQ or working towards.
  • Experience of working with pupils/young people with SEMH.
  • Experience of managing staff.
  • Experience of leading one or more curriculum areas.
  • Ability to motivate a team and individuals.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
