Trainee Shift Manager Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Trainee Shift Manager at McDonald's Tunbridge Wells. As a Trainee Shift Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations, including team management, customer service, and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the company's policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Collaborate with other managers and departments to meet organizational goals and standards.
  • Develop strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making competencies.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both team members and customers.

Training and Development Plan

As a Trainee Shift Manager, you will go through a structured training and development program, including:

  • Orientation and Onboarding: You will receive an orientation to familiarize you with our company culture, policies, and the role's expectations.
  • Shadowing and Mentorship: You will work alongside experienced Shift Managers to observe and learn best practices.
  • Training Modules: You will complete training modules covering leadership, operational procedures, team management, and customer service.
  • Hands-on Experience: You will gradually take on more responsibilities as you gain confidence and experience.
  • Performance Reviews: Regular performance reviews will be conducted to assess your progress and provide feedback.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for the Trainee Shift Manager position, candidates should possess the following:

  • A strong desire to pursue a career in shift management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (higher education is a plus).
  • Availability for a flexible, full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
