At International SOS, we are seeking a skilled Coordinating Nurse to join our global team. As a key member of our medical support team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and medical assistance to clients and patients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \t
  • Receiving calls from patients located anywhere in the world and providing telephonic triage and holistic medical assessment. \t
  • Providing pre-trip travel advice, including assessment of pre-trip travel medical risks and advising on travel health and vaccination requirements. \t
  • Assessing medical standards of care in the patient's location against international standards and providing guidance on fitness to fly. \t
  • Coordinating medical care for patients anywhere in the world, interpreting medical situations with a tailored risk analysis of condition vs geographical location. \t
  • Directing patients to the best medical facilities in a specific location. \t
  • Liaising with international medical professionals to obtain medical information about patients, coordinate medical treatment, and make recommendations on change/upgrade in care. \t
  • Arranging medical evacuations and repatriations, either via commercial carrier (with medical escorts) or air ambulance. \t
  • The opportunity to act as medical escort for medical evacuation/repatriation. \t
  • Being involved in internal quality-improvement projects.

About You:

  • \t
  • NMC registered with typically around 5 years' experience in ICU/Emergency setting. \t
  • Broad clinical experience in either travel/global health, public health, cruise ship, military nursing, humanitarian/NGO work. \t
  • Able to identify critical medical issues and act promptly to escalate and case manage. \t
  • Able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment, adaptable, and empathetic. \t
  • Excellent telephone manner and technical skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Databases). \t
  • Proficient in written and spoken English language with good communication skills. \t
  • Additional language(s) an advantage.
