Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to older patients in Ashford, Canterbury, and Thanet.

Main Duties

The post holder will be part of our team, ensuring that patients receive the highest standards of care in accordance with the National Service Framework for Frailty and Geriatric Medicine and relevant NICE guidance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Frailty Assessment Unit and developing an acute frailty service
  • Implementing an Acute Physician Led AMU model supported by specialty in-reach rotas
  • Changing HCOOP referral from an age criterion to a frailty one

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in Frailty and Emergency Department Pathways
  • Professional qualifications and full GMC Registration
  • Specialist Registration or will obtain within 6 months of interview date
