About the Role

Bruin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reinsurance Technician to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the reinsurance operations team, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex reinsurance contracts, analysing data, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reinsurance Contract Management: Manage and administer various reinsurance treaties and contracts, including proportional and non-proportional treaties.
  • Data Analysis and Validation: Review, analyse, and validate reinsurance data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with underwriters, actuaries, and other relevant departments to assess reinsurance needs and optimize coverage structures.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and analyses of reinsurance portfolios for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial Transaction Management: Monitor and reconcile financial transactions related to reinsurance premiums and claims.
  • Industry Knowledge and Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in reinsurance to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in reinsurance administration or a similar role within the insurance industry.
  • Reinsurance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of reinsurance principles, treaties, and practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in utilising reinsurance software and data analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as ARe (Associate in Reinsurance) or equivalent would be advantageous.
