About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Field Services Engineer - Energy Solutions Expert to join our Yorkshire Region team. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting gas-powered generation plants, ensuring maximum availability through maintenance, trouble-shooting, and fault rectification.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver efficient and cost-effective services to customers, ensuring maximum availability of gas engines and related balance of plant.
- Schedule and carry out maintenance to the required standard, avoiding unnecessary replacement of parts and engine unavailability.
- Respond to out-of-hours callouts in a timely manner, taking oil samples, labelling, and dispatching them to the laboratory according to agreed standards and procedures.
- Select, order, and use parts correctly, returning any unnecessary parts to store to minimize wastage.
- Maintain van stock in good condition, accurately booking parts out as they are used and reporting actual shortfalls to the Area Service Manager.
- Ensure liaison and communication with Area Service Manager, customers, and subcontractors on site is maintained at all times.
- Document all site visits and complete service reports in accordance with agreed quality standards and timescales.
- Protect and develop the industry standing of Clarke Energy by building and maintaining positive relationships with customers based on consistently professional dealings and attitude.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in service engineering.
- High level of electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Gas safe registration and a reasonable level of IT skills.
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Electrical or Mechanical qualification.
- Apprentice served engineer status.
- Competitive salary: £45,000 per annum (plus overtime and additional payments for call-outs).
