Community Outreach Officer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Outreach Officer to join our team at Colchester United. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in promoting our charity's activities and engaging with our stakeholders.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a proactive marketing plan to raise awareness of Colchester United Community Foundation among our target audiences. This will involve managing and developing our website, social media channels, and digital agency relationships.

In addition, the successful candidate will support the recruitment of participants for our programs through digital, flyer, and social media channels. They will also lead on planning and delivery of charitable events to raise our profile and funds.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create and implement a proactive marketing plan to raise awareness of Colchester United Community Foundation among key audiences.
  2. Manage and develop the CUCF website, including content and design.
  3. Manage digital agency relationships, such as hosting and content providers.
  4. Manage and develop all CUCF social media channels.
  5. Support the recruitment of participants for programs through digital, flyer, and social media channels.
  6. Lead on planning and delivery of charitable events to raise our profile and funds.
  7. Liaise with designers to produce print marketing materials, ensuring that branding is used appropriately.
  8. Build and manage a CRM system to track and monitor success of marketing campaigns and stakeholder engagement, providing regular updates to the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer.
  9. Develop relationships with external communication partners, such as local press and media owners, to drive visibility and reach of CUCF among stakeholders.
  10. Assist senior management and project managers with proposal writing, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
  11. Draft press releases, create briefing notes, overview documents, and create videos for use online and within presentations.
  12. Develop a close working relationship with the Colchester United Football Club marketing and communications team to utilize their marketing resources when applicable.
Requirements
  • Graduate or graduate calibre.
  • Minimum of 1 year media and communications experience.
  • Management of websites.
  • Excellent working understanding and experience of social media channels and driving engagement and marketing to new followers, fans, partners, families, and participants.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
