Job Role:

Taylor Woodrow, a leading civil engineering company, is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to oversee the upgrade of Bletchley Rail Depot. This project is part of a series of works to enhance maintenance facilities for a major rail operator.

As a Site Engineer, you will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for ensuring that all works, including those of suppliers and subcontractors, are coordinated to meet safety, quality, and environmental objectives.

Duties:

• Ensure all necessary permits are obtained and in place before site work commences.

• Complete Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets in a timely manner.

• Conduct setting out and surveying tasks.

• Manage subcontractors effectively.

• Utilize document control to manage the distribution of information.

• Develop and approve procedures specific to the area of works.

• Approve method statements and risk assessments, ensuring they are followed throughout the project.

• Regularly liaise with the client to ensure their needs are met.

• Ensure Design Drawings are updated to reflect completed works as they are finished.

• Collaborate with other sections to manage site clashes and ensure a smooth workflow.

• Regularly review procedures to ensure they are efficient.

Person Specification:

• Formal qualification in a civil engineering-related subject.

• Previous site engineering experience is essential.

• Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures, or drainage is desirable.

• Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is advantageous.
