We are currently recruiting for a Principal Nuclear Warhead Safety Engineer to join our team at AWE plc. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading organization in the nuclear industry and contribute to the development of innovative safety engineering solutions.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will have a degree or postgraduate qualifications in Science or Engineering or a related subject and significant experience working on munitions and/or nuclear reactors or other high-hazard industries. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of Safety Case content and ALARP determination, understanding of Defence or Civil nuclear regulations, ability to undertake critical analysis and assessment of complex systems, effective communication skills, and leadership or management of related safety projects.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake technical assessments and provide advice on major hazards associated with nuclear products, including explosives;
  • Provide safety information to operators to incorporate into their Safety Cases;
  • Develop electronic Safety Case tools (eSC);
  • Undertake nuclear safety assessments, safety management activities, and product design safety;
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £62,020 - £98,020 per annum, depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience.
