Job Overview
Bechtel Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Assurance Practitioner to lead the development of nuclear safety cases for a major construction project in the United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and delivering safety cases to regulators, with a strong understanding of nuclear safety processes and standards.

About the Role
This position is open to United Kingdom (UK) Nationals only. The Senior Nuclear Assurance Practitioner will provide leadership to a group of Safety Case Engineers in developing safety cases, representing the project to the regulators and interfacing with engineering to support long-range design and engineering support. The individual will also provide input during the development of project schedules and support regulatory approaches to accomplish project mission.

Responsibilities
The Senior Nuclear Assurance Practitioner will be responsible for:
  1. Providing leadership in the development of the nuclear safety cases including periodic reviews.
  2. Supporting the review of submissions pertaining to system & operational safety planning & execution throughout the project's life cycle ensuring that submissions are compliant with the requirements.
  3. Contributing to the engineering design in the development of systems involving nuclear safety requirements to ensure safety case is optimized with design.
  4. Supporting development of resource-loaded schedules for safety case development in support of project milestones.
  5. Interfacing with engineering, clients, and regulators regularly to discuss progress, receive feedback, and ensure customer satisfaction with safety case approach and development.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Master's Degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Ideal experience working within a licensee organization with direct experience of interfacing with regulators – including in the delivery of major capital projects.
  • Previous qualification as Engineer, Senior Reactor Operator, or similar for the particular plant design for the safety case activity.
  • Professional or Charter Engineer License/Qualification.

Salary Information
We offer a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes an annual bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
