About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical design content for water industry projects, leading a multi-disciplinary design team, and operating under hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver mechanical design content for water industry projects, including water and wastewater, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure works design.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary design team, managing and coordinating design outputs, and ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Develop effective concept design solutions, undertake a wide range of design work, and implement innovative design solutions to meet technical and project requirements.
  • Manage projects, resources, and budgets, and lead on contract preparation, project planning, and programming.
  • Effective management and response of project-related correspondence, complete performance appraisals, and provide development opportunities for team members.
Requirements
  • Ability to produce, check, and approve detailed mechanical design outputs for complex plant.
  • Excellent working knowledge of sewage and clean water processes.
  • Ability to develop good practical engineering solutions, and good knowledge of civil and electrical works.
  • Ability to lead numerous projects simultaneously, and be a team player and communicator.
  • Willing to travel with occasional overnight stays, and must have a driving license.
