About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in delivering mechanical design content for water industry projects. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team and working on complex projects, including water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure works design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver mechanical design solutions for water industry projects, including design delivery at all stages from feasibility to detailed designs for construction.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the production of detailed mechanical design packages for construction.
  • Manage and coordinate design outputs produced by the local team and engineers from other water design offices.
  • Implement effective, value for money, and innovative design solutions to meet technical and project requirements.
  • Check and approve engineering designs, calculations, and oversee drawing production.
  • Manage projects, resources, and budgets, and lead on contract preparation and project planning.
Requirements
  • Excellent working knowledge of sewage and clean water processes.
  • Ability to develop good practical engineering solutions.
  • Good knowledge of civil and electrical works would be beneficial.
  • Ability to lead numerous projects simultaneously and manage a team of engineers.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
