Job Summary

Castle Point Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join its team as a Strategic Workforce Development Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance to senior officers and elected members on workforce planning, people management, and organisational development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective workforce planning strategies to meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Provide expert advice on people management and organisational development to senior officers and elected members.
  • Lead on the delivery of operational HR services, including payroll and employee lifecycle management.
  • Ensure that the Council has an effective internal and external communications function, building positive relationships with external media and enhancing the Council's reputation.

Requirements
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing effective workforce planning strategies.
  • Excellent analytical skills and use of evidence, including data-led decision making.
  • Demonstrable understanding of and experience of delivering whole organisational development and change management.
  • Background in a relevant sector, with sound knowledge of local government and the environment in which it operates.
