King's College Hospital is a leading teaching hospital in the UK, providing a wide range of local and specialist services. As a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse in the Paediatric Emergency Department, you will be part of a dynamic team that serves approximately 30,000+ children per year.
The department is made up of minor and major areas, resuscitation, and a paediatric clinical assessment unit. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, including youth workers, health visitors, safeguarding, and trauma nurses, to provide high-quality care to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Take charge of shifts within the Paediatric Department and support the band 7 team leader with management of the team.
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of junior staff and student nurses, helping to lead and manage their development.
- Provide safe and effective patient care, working within both the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, holistic care.
- Observe and adhere to the rules, policies, procedures, and standards of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, as well as relevant statutory and professional obligations.
- 1st level Registered Paediatric Nurse qualification.
- Mentorship programme or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Demonstrable clinical expertise relevant to the area.
- Team building and working skills, able to lead a team to achieve results.
