We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Team Lead to join our team at Mpac Group. As a key member of our Mechanical Design Team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our next generation of automation machines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional guidance to your team on the design process, from initial involvement with applications through to support for the Service Department.
- Work with engineering managers to provide technical risk mitigation plans and assist your design team in designing machines with an operating window within the target required by commissioning and customer requirements.
- Manage delivery plans aligned with project requirements, working with engineering managers to deliver safe, fit for purpose, maintainable, reliable, sustainable, fully integrated electro-mechanical modules and machines.
- Guide your team to maximise proven technology, reducing project-specific bespoke designs to a minimum, and provide technical input during design review meetings.
- Assign team roles and responsibilities for project leads, ensuring prioritisation of electrical and software functions for successful delivery.
- Design and deliver engineered projects on time, of the required quality, and within budgetary limits, providing clear resource requirements and assisting with interviewing suitable candidates.
- Work to constantly improve business processes, ensuring documentation is checked and fit for purpose, and providing scope for improvement projects to enhance delivery efficiency and quality.
- Experience in mechanical design of industrial automation, with a strong understanding of customer requirements and presentation of design solutions.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements, apply technical due diligence, and perform FMEA to mitigate risk.
- Strong planning and scheduling skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
