About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Healthcare Professional to join our team at Mountain Healthcare. As a Forensic Custody Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-centered care to individuals detained in police custody.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse or Paramedic with 3+ years' post-qualification experience to transition into a dynamic and challenging role. You will work closely with the police and receive comprehensive training to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care to detainees, including assessment, treatment, and support for physical and mental health needs.
  • Collect and process forensic samples, including blood and other evidence, to assist police investigations.
  • Work collaboratively with Liaison and Diversion teams to identify and address mental health needs.
  • Deliver substance misuse therapies and promote good personal healthcare practices.
  • Assess and care for detainees and staff in custody suites, including acute disease management.

You will be based in a busy police custody suite, working a 4-on-4-off rota pattern that offers a great work-life balance. This is a full-time and part-time position available.

Requirements
  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Acute medical healthcare experience, preferably in A&E, walk-in centers, or community nursing.
  • Previous experience in forensic healthcare, police custody, or prison settings is highly desirable.
