Job Title: Education Support Specialist

We are working alongside a trusted primary school in Sevenoaks to recruit a Year 1 Education Support Specialist. This full-time role starts January 2025.

As an Education Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting children's learning and development. You will help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters confidence and enhances academic skills.

The school is dedicated to making learning exciting while supporting and developing young, curious minds. They have achieved 'Excellent' in all areas in their most recent inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
  2. Monitor children's progress and development, recording key observations and providing feedback to the teacher.
  3. Work with small groups or individual children to address specific learning needs.
  4. Remain calm and composed when dealing with challenging behaviour.
  5. Encourage participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
  6. Adhere to the legal requirements and policies of the school.
  7. Promote the welfare of pupils.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  2. Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
  3. Previous experience working with children.
  4. An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply.
