About the Role



Covetrus is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Edinburgh. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial processes.



Key Responsibilities



  • Create sales invoices and customer credit notes using approved processes.

  • Set up and maintain customer accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.

  • Generate monthly customer statements and reconcile corporate and individual customer accounts.

  • Liaise regularly with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

  • Chase overdue balances with the support of the business units and resolve outstanding balances via telephone and email.

  • Reconcile bank transactions daily and process supplier invoices with high accuracy.

  • Process staff expenses in line with company expense policy and prepare bi-monthly payment runs for approval.

  • Answer queries from suppliers and reconcile supplier statements, following up on any queries.

  • Assist with audit requirements and support the Management Accountant with reporting requests.

  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive team culture.
