The role of Assistant Director of Music at a prestigious independent boys school in South West London offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspirational music leader to join our team.

Job Description:

  • Assist the Director of Music in planning and delivering music lessons for students aged 7-19.
  • Sustain a high-quality music curriculum that caters to all students, regardless of musical ability or experience.
  • Accompany soloists and choirs at internal and external performances and play for school services and productions.
  • Lead large ensembles and choirs, and conduct weekly hymn practice.

Person Specification:

  • A degree in music and ongoing professional development (QTS desirable).
  • Knowledge of the music curriculum for primary and secondary education.
  • Ability to lead and conduct large ensembles and choirs.
  • An enthusiastic and approachable individual with a passion for music and education.
  • A positive team player with strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding policies and student welfare.
