Pensions Administration Manager

XPS Pensions is a leading consulting and administration business specialising in the pensions and insurance sectors. Our Pensions Administration business continues to grow, and we are now seeking an experienced Administration Manager to join our team in Middlesbrough with hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the provision of pensions administration services for assigned XPS Administration clients.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of client relationships with trustees and corporate clients, participating in trustee and client meetings as necessary.
  • Provide expert advice and solutions to pensions queries and consultative advice, staying up-to-date with technical and legislative developments in the pensions industry.
  • Oversee project management of annual and ad-hoc projects, ensuring timely completion in line with customer and legislative requirements.
  • Assume responsibility for total workflow management, including workload allocation, prioritisation, and delivery in line with client expectations, legal timescales, and service level agreements.
  • Formal staff management responsibilities, including conducting appraisals, setting individual and team objectives, handling HR and performance management issues, and recruitment activities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous pensions administration experience in Defined Benefit schemes, including leavers, retirements, deaths, transfers, monthly processing, and investment.
  • Expert knowledge of pensions administration activities and ability to apply this knowledge to any scheme.
  • Thorough knowledge of pensions legislation framework and ability to remain informed of changes to the framework.
  • Previous supervisory, leadership, and management experience, including performance monitoring, appraisals, recruitment, and IT proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Maths and English GCSE grade 6/B or equivalent.
  • Previous presentational experience is desirable for client pitches, trustee meetings, and account development activities.
