We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Director to join our team at Sherborne Talent Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our Cyber Security team and developing a comprehensive security strategy to protect our digital networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access or unintended activities.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support the Cyber Security team to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Cyber Security Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive cyber security strategy that aligns with our business objectives and ensures the protection of our digital assets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our IT Operations Director to define and execute the cyber security strategy and roadmap.
- Security Management: Maintain overall responsibility for cyber security across the organization, ensuring that all security policies and procedures are up-to-date and effective.
- Technology Evaluation: Collaborate with other IT teams to evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance our cyber security posture for both internal and customer-facing platforms.
- Security Deficiencies: Proactively identify cyber security deficiencies and opportunities for improvement, and develop plans to address them.
- IT Strategy Planning: Participate in IT strategy planning activities, bringing current knowledge and future vision of cyber security to align with business needs.
- Long-Range Planning: Analyze and predict trends, developing long-range plans to maintain the effectiveness of our cyber security strategies.
- Penetration Testing: Manage a penetration testing and vulnerability assessment program to identify and address potential security risks.
- Cloud Security: Contribute to the design and build of cloud-based infrastructure and architecture, ensuring optimization from a cyber security perspective.
- Application Security: Contribute to the design and build of customer-facing platforms and applications, working closely with software development teams to ensure cyber security best practices throughout the SDLC.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to the use of cyber security technology in the organization.
- Cyber Security Expertise: Extensive knowledge of cyber security with a strong technical background.
- People Management: Experience in people management, including team leadership and mentoring.
- Application Security: Detailed understanding of application security and experience working with software development teams, providing support and advice on best practices for maintaining security.
- Endpoint Detection and Response: Significant experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) and network detection and response (NDR) technologies.
- Information Security Standards: Detailed knowledge of Information Security standards, including Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO27001.
- Technical Skills: Good understanding of Linux and database technologies such as Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Mercurial, and Git.
- Cloud Security: Good understanding of cyber security practices related to cloud hosting, preferably with experience in AWS.
- Open Source Risk Management: Good understanding of open source risk management using enterprise management tools.
- Attitude and Enthusiasm: Positive attitude and high degree of enthusiasm.
- Service Management: Understanding of Service Management disciplines, ideally using the ITIL framework.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to stay updated with technology trends and comprehend key technical drivers in the industry.
