About the Job

We are currently seeking a graduate teaching assistant to join our team in a SEN Secondary School in South East London.

The successful candidate will work closely with the pupil, the teacher, and other members of staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The role requires strong behaviour management skills, as well as the ability to provide targeted support to meet the individual needs of the pupil.

A passion for working with pupils who have special educational needs is essential, as well as a commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Work one-to-one with the pupil in the classroom
  • Provide additional support to the pupil outside of lessons
  • Assist with implementing strategies in the child's EHC Plans
  • Monitor and manage the pupil's behaviour
  • Support the pupil's social and emotional development
  • Attend relevant meetings and therapy sessions

Requirements:

  • GCSE English and maths at grade C or above
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A passion for working with children and young people
