Job Description:
The Production Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's manufacturing processes are safe, efficient, and capable of meeting customer demand. This will involve working closely with the Production Management team to develop and implement process improvements, as well as collaborating with the Development team to introduce new products and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support and guidance to the Production team to ensure manufacturing processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Lean Philosophy: Adopt and promote lean philosophies throughout the production engineering department to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and advice to the site Facilities Manager and other stakeholders as required.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor technical apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a production engineering role, preferably in a low to medium volume, high mix, fast-paced production environment.
- Education: Degree/HNC/HND educated in an engineering or science-related discipline.
- Skills: Experienced in using practical problem-solving techniques such as 8D, PFMEA, etc. Computer literate, especially in Excel. Previous CNC experience preferred.
Working Environment:
The Production Engineer will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
