Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Methods Optimization Specialist to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd). The successful candidate will support our customers through maintenance and operation optimization with customized solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize assembly and manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods, designing, and delivering robust process flows and work instructions.
  • Support manufacturing programs and continuous improvement disciplines in providing cost-effective manufacturing processes for new and existing programs.
  • Be the interface with the engineering team for cost-effective introduction of new products.
  • Support Production with the investigation of complex production problems, analysis, and recommend corrective solutions or improvements to ensure proper production flow.
  • Participate in the design of workplace and cell layouts to promote efficient overhaul and manufacturing process flow.
  • Identify build sequence and develop product structure for assigned overhaul, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
  • Read, interpret, and evaluate drawings, models, and designs for assembly and manufacture.
  • Design tools, fixtures, test rigs, and jigs.
  • Lead improvement projects and give presentations to managers and staff.
  • Maintain, develop, and update Work Instructions in line with newest practices and improvements.
  • Maintain correct revisions of all documentation.

Requirements

  • HNC engineering qualification required or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of mathematics, Lean principles, and tools, Six Sigma.
  • CAD Qualification desirable.
