Main ResponsibilitiesThe duties of the Fellow would include:
- Providing pre- and post-operative care to patients on elective operating lists
- Participating in the resident on-call rota, covering intensive care, obstetric anaesthesia, and general anaesthetic duties
- Working in a team environment to deliver effective patient care
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a major provider of hospital services to the population of North and mid Hampshire and surrounding areas. The trust operates across Basingstoke, Winchester, and Andover sites, providing a comprehensive range of acute services, including tertiary referrals for colorectal, liver, peritoneal carcinomatosis, haemophilia, and pseudomyxoma surgery.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will possess:
- Full registration with a licence to practice with the GMC
- MMBS or equivalent qualification
- BLTC in Anaesthesia
- Passed Final FRCA exam
Desirable qualifications include:
- CCT in Anaesthetics / ICM
- Life support course instructor
The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
- Experience in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine
- Ability to cover Intensive Care, Obstetric Anaesthesia, and General Anaesthetic duties in both elective and emergency settings
Essential skills include:
- Manual dexterity performing clinical duties
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to establish good professional relations with others
Desirable skills include:
- Research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Teaching experience on life support or deteriorating patient courses
The successful candidate will be able to work evenings and weekends, and will be physically and mentally fit with satisfactory occupational health clearance.
