We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chemotherapy Nurse to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in our spacious Cancer Treatment Unit.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. As a Chemotherapy Nurse, you will work closely with our inter-professional team to provide holistic care to patients with Haemato-Oncology and Solid Cancer.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to rotate between the chemotherapy delivery area and supportive area, receiving excellent training and development opportunities. We actively encourage our nurses to take part in research projects and pursue higher education qualifications.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient care in conjunction with the inter-professional team.
  • To take charge of the Day Care Unit as required, liaising closely with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse with continuing responsibility.
  • To perform the Clinic Nurse Role at times, coordinating all prescriptions, blood tests, and confirmations in advance, ensuring timely treatment production/dispensary.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Relevant cancer care experience and Chemotherapy certification.
  • Mentorship course completion and specialist relevant clinical course.
  • Evidence of proficient clinical skills in SACT care, proficient communication, and understanding of reflective practice.
  • Able to work in a changing environment, demonstrating effective teamwork skills and basic computer skills.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is approximately £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, health insurance, and career development opportunities.
