About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Medical Microbiologist to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing a comprehensive microbiology service to our patients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive microbiology service, including diagnostic and clinical microbiology, infection prevention and control, health protection, and health promotion.
  • Provide a consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues in other specialties and to GPs and other healthcare professionals in Primary Care.
  • Liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and other postgraduate activities.
  • Take part in the Royal College of Pathologists continuing medical education programme.
Requirements
  • Training and experience equivalent to that required for FRCPath.
  • Teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate level.
  • Wide experience of clinical microbiology, infectious disease, and infection control.
  • Competent IT skills.
