About the Job

The Commodity Trading desk at ING Bank N.V. is providing commodity hedges and risk management solutions to corporates with hedging needs in the commodity space.

This role will cover London Metal Exchange Base Metals, Iron Ore, Coking Coal, and Battery Metals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow developments in (paper) commodity markets.
  • Continuously check and update relevant market parameters.
  • Price indicative and firm quotes for clients.
  • Contribute to IT developments for the desk.
  • Support senior traders in their daily routine.
  • Support portfolio owners manage the risk positions of the desk within the applicable limits and desk risk tolerance.
  • Produce daily P n L and research reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to Degree level, within Finance, Economics, Maths, or Science.
  • c2 years previous work experience in banking, trading, or risk management roles OR commodities back office or middle office experience and looking to move into trading.
  • Excellent Excel and numeracy skills.
  • Programming skills and ability to develop desk tools using VBA and Python is critical.

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per year.
