Scientific Co-Founder in Residence for Pediatric Cancer Therapies

Deep Science Ventures is seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Co-Founder in Residence to join our team in developing innovative immune-related therapies for pediatric cancer. As a key member of our venture creation program, you will work closely with our team to design, develop, and launch a new company focused on harnessing the unique features of childhood tumors to revolutionize pediatric cancer treatment.
About the OpportunityPediatric cancers have a significant impact on health, with limited treatment options available. Current treatments often rely on repurposed adult cancer therapies, which can have severe side effects and limited efficacy. Our approach aims to stimulate the host's immune response, leveraging the unique characteristics of childhood tumors to develop curative therapies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead the development of immune-related therapies for pediatric cancer
- Collaborate with our team to design and implement a venture creation strategy
- Work closely with industry experts and key opinion leaders to design strategies with curative therapeutic potential
- Contribute to the development of a new company, including fundraising, commercial partnerships, and team-building
- PhD and/or MD background in immunology, vaccinology, virology, or a related field
- Expertise in vaccinology and the stimulation of immune response
- Experience in (pre)clinical drug or vaccine development in immunology, infectious disease, or cancer
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges
- Up to £250k in investment to develop early proof-of-concept data
- Guaranteed income of £4,166 per month paid as a consultancy fee
- Majority equity stake in the new company for you and your co-founders
- Continuous post-spinout support, including fundraising, commercial partnerships, recruitment, and team-building
