The Role
The Sales Director will play a critical role in driving the company's growth strategy, working closely with the leadership team to develop and deliver sales and marketing plans. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering sales and marketing strategies to achieve business objectives
- Identifying new business opportunities and market trends, including expansion into new markets and products
- Creating annual sales and marketing plans, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure goals are met
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders, negotiating major deals, and overseeing pricing strategies
- Communicating market intelligence to the marketing team to facilitate development of marketing campaigns
- Aligning sales activity with the marketing team to maximize sales and marketing opportunities
- Providing strong leadership and establishing credibility as a leader, successfully delivering the sales and marketing strategy
- Building, leading, and inspiring a high-performing team, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and development strategies
- Representing the company and building relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, clients, and industry partners
Requirements
- Degree-educated with a strong commercial background in a B2B sales and distribution business
- 5-10 years of sales and marketing leadership experience within a comparably sized sales and distribution business
- Strong commercial leader with P&L experience, with a demonstrable track record of growing and developing businesses
- Experience of identifying, negotiating, and securing high-value contracts
- A charismatic leader who can empower and motivate a team
- Exceptional skills in communication, motivation, and interpersonal relations
