Job Summary

Main Duties of the Job

The Chef - Bank role at Barchester Healthcare involves assisting the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavorsome, and well-balanced menus while working with residents to tailor the menus to their needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, working with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes, and creating a warm, efficient, and fun environment. The role also includes tasks such as working within the budget, completing regular audits, managing stock control, and assisting in leading and motivating a team.

Job Responsibilities

As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavorsome, and well-balanced menus while working with residents to tailor menus around them. Requirements
  • A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
  • A good understanding of nutrition
  • Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
  • The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
  • Good understanding of HACCP
