About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Specialist to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Haematology Directorate, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our haematology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of care to patients with haematological conditions, including those referred to you and those cared for by your team.
  • Participate in clinical and service activities to ensure a high standard of patient care, working closely with medical, professional, and managerial colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of haematology services, including the maintenance and further development of BSH level 2 haemato-oncology services.
  • Provide out-patient services at one or more sites as required.
  • Participate in the Trust-wide system supporting clinical governance.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full and specialist GMC registration.
  • CCT (UK trained) or equivalent if trained abroad.
  • MRCP or evidence of equivalent qualification.
  • FRCPath (UK) or evidence of equivalent qualifications.
Desirable Criteria
  • PhD/MSc in Haematology.
  • Experience of providing leadership.
  • Experience working as a consultant.
  • Experience working with children and young people.
Personal Qualities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate clarity in written and spoken communication.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with experience and enthusiasm for audit and research.
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical governance issues.
