About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Counsellor to provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people in our partner schools.

As a Counsellor on Placement, you will work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children, offering one-to-one counselling sessions.

Our organisation has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and we are committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of the children we work with.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people
  • Working in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children
  • Offering one-to-one counselling sessions
  • Attending regular supervision and training workshops

We offer a comprehensive induction programme, clinical supervision, and a well-recognised clinical placement.

Our Counsellors on Placement are dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of the children they work with, and we are committed to supporting their professional development.

About You

You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist, or Clinical Psychologist, or studying towards one of these professions.

Key requirements include:

  • Qualification in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or Psychotherapy
  • Relevant experience of direct work with children
  • Ability to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children
