Company Overview

Our client is a family-run business with over forty years of experience in the pig industry. They operate a 400-sow unit with 1000 acres of arable farmed and contracted to support a team of five staff. Their goal is to provide excellent animal welfare standards while achieving efficient production.

Responsibilities

The Livestock Assistant (Pigs) will be responsible for various tasks, including:

  • Working on a three-weekly batch system with prolific sows
  • Record-keeping and adherence to regulations
  • Assisting with vaccinations and other animal care tasks
  • Participating in power washing and general farm duties
Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a compassionate and hardworking nature, with experience in animal care and farming operations. While prior experience is desired, training can be provided for the right individual. Telehandler, tractor, and bobcat experience is also beneficial, but not essential.

Salary and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, along with overtime and performance-related bonus opportunities.
