About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Support Officer to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our compliance and facilities team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monitoring changes in the Sellafield Ltd Management System and ensure the NNL Information Management System (QPulse) remains compliant.
  • Manage Qpulse documentation, provide guidance on operational documentation, and address any issues that arise.
  • Conduct compliance checks of Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) procedures and initiate remedial action as necessary.
  • Administer key operational committees, producing quality minutes, notes for the record, and meeting records to maintain an auditable trail.
  • Oversee records retention and archive documents, ensuring compliance with the Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.
  • Provide general administrative support, including ordering goods, issuing visitor passes, supporting site visits, arranging meetings, taking minutes, monitoring stationery supplies, and managing one-card holders.
  • Take on additional roles, such as Emergency Team Member, Building Controller, Legionella Responsible Person, and Asbestos Coordinator, as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the business.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work to stringent deadlines.
  • Evidence of self-motivation, drive, energy, and resilience.
  • Strong communication skills, able to elicit information from stakeholders at all levels.
  • Logical and methodical approach.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
  • Ability to obtain SC-level security clearance.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of Sellafield Site License requirements.
  • Experience working in the nuclear industry.
  • Knowledge of compliance systems or writing and reviewing safe systems of work and associated documentation.
  • Facilities Management experience.
  • Good knowledge of other MS Office packages, such as PowerPoint.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
