Overview of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Post-Mortem Technician to join our team at the Defra Group. This exciting opportunity involves providing vital support for the examination and sampling of large animals and poultry, while promoting a culture of safety and efficiency within our laboratory facilities.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support the examination and sampling of large animals and poultry through humane euthanasia and tissue sampling
  • Assist in the location and sampling of tissues as required by experimental protocols
  • Ensure the safe transfer and submission of samples from the post-mortem room to laboratory facilities

Your Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • Experience working in a scientific environment and dissection/anatomy skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • A BTEC HNC/BSc degree or equivalent technical qualifications in biological/biomedical/bioveterinary science
