Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced medical secretary to join our secretarial team on a permanent, part-time basis. The successful candidate will provide efficient and comprehensive secretarial support, processing information in a timely manner and preparing letters, reports, and patient referrals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial support to the practice team, including preparing letters, reports, and patient referrals.
  • Process information in a timely manner, ensuring that all requests for information are appropriately dealt with.
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplined team members and external agencies, such as secondary care and community service providers.
  • Handle queries regarding hospital appointments and treatments.
  • Ensure that all subsequent charges are invoiced appropriately.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in a GP/healthcare setting.
  • Secretarial qualification or relevant experience.
  • GCSE grade A-C or equivalent.
  • EMIS clinical system experience is desirable, but training will be provided.
  • Good telephone/communication manner.
  • Excellent touch-typing skills.
  • Organized and efficient.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Methodical approach and able to work under pressure.
  • Good IT skills.
