Job Summary

Equinix is a leading global interconnection platform that enables businesses to access, interconnect, and innovate at scale. As a Critical Facilities Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of our data centers, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, UPS systems, and chillers.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor building and IBX alarms to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on site infrastructure, including maintenance of primary infrastructures, and oversee vendor work as needed.
  • Perform corrective maintenance on equipment and complete site logs and data gathering for permits, such as MOPs and scripts.
  • Assist senior staff with responding to on-site incidents and act as directed.
  • Participate in ongoing infrastructure projects and carry out small works projects, such as lighting upgrades.
Requirements
  • ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous critical environment experience.
  • Good knowledge of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
