Job Title: Electrical Operations Manager for Theatre Productions

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Operations Manager to join our team at the Association of British Theatre Technicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of theatre productions, ensuring that all technical requirements are met and that the stage sound and lighting systems are maintained and upgraded as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with Health & Safety Regulations: Ensure that all electrical work is carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations, including regular risk assessments and maintenance of equipment.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support for theatre productions, including operating lighting and sound systems, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Oversee the maintenance and upgrade of electrical equipment and systems, including the replacement of obsolete or faulty components.
  • Collaboration with Design and Production Teams: Work closely with design and production teams to ensure that all technical requirements are met, and that productions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Building and Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the building, including electrical installations and plumbing.

Requirements:

  • Theatre Experience: Proven experience working in a theatre environment, with knowledge of lighting, sound, and electrical systems.
  • Health and Safety: Excellent knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations, with experience in carrying out risk assessments.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers, producers, and other stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
