We are recruiting for a Breast Assistant Service Manager who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward. The post holder would be required to have a staff management background, as well as good communication skills.

To oversee the daily running and operational management of the breast unit. To work alongside and manage the breast screening office manager, based at Medway as well as working in conjunction with the programme management team and colleagues at East Kent Hospitals and Maidstone Hospital.

  • Assist the Breast Lead to draw up policies and procedures for the service as required in response to and in line with Trust directives
  • Ensure effective communication with all multidisciplinary professions
  • Support the Directorate in the development of services
  • Represent the Breast Lead at the Directorate at meetings as and when required
  • Ensure Health and Safety issues are identified and addressed
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reports as required by the Service Manager/ Head of Imaging
  • To undertake project work as requested by the Service Manager/Head of Imaging
  • Provide effective leadership, motivation, performance management and development processes to achieve required results
  • Provide administrative support to the Breast Lead as and when required.
Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Educated to degree level or evidence of equivalent level of ability/NHS experience to Post/Graduate level
Knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of current NHS Policy including Agenda for Change and Key Performance Targets (RTT & Cancer)
  • Knowledge of hospital IT systems.
  • To demonstrate an understanding of managing performance and national targets
