We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit. This is a full-time contract position up to 15 months.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in public health science and nursing science. They will work closely with individuals, families, groups, and communities to promote, protect, and preserve their health.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assessing the health status of individuals and families and developing appropriate health plans.
  • Investigating health problems and health hazards in the community, including the prevention and control of communicable diseases.
  • Providing education and counseling to individuals and families to promote healthy behaviors.
  • Establishing partnerships with community agencies to address public health issues.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited university and a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the general class with no restrictions.

They will also have proficiency in both English and French languages, which is required for this position. Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse and in a Public Health Unit is an asset.
