Naval Systems Specialist

Weir Marine Engineering is seeking a Naval Systems Specialist to join our team in Halifax, Canada. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support services to the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and allied nations on weapon systems and related support equipment.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in system maintenance, repair, and upgrade, with experience in working with missile launching systems and their support equipment. You will be responsible for investigating hardware and software faults, developing technical solutions, and supporting test events. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with other team members to design, develop, and deploy quality solutions that satisfy project objectives and client requirements.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering technologist diploma or BSc in Engineering, with at least 10 years of significant and recent experience in a related field. You must be able to communicate technical concepts to non-experts, both verbally and in writing, and be willing to travel nationally and internationally for periods of one to four weeks, 4 to 6 times per year.
Responsibilities:
* Investigate hardware and software faults onboard ships and in workshops
* Develop technical solutions or changes to in-service equipment
* Support test events, including planning, data collection, and data analysis
* Support the implementation of alterations to in-service systems
* Develop, review, update, configure manage, and distribute technical documentation
