Job Summary

The Plant I position at Talen Energy is responsible for maintaining safe and reliable operation of plant instrumentation and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will perform maintenance and repair on plant field instrumentation and controls, establish and maintain a precise plant instrumentation calibration schedule, and accept first-line responsibility for designated systems. They will also maintain thorough knowledge of plant logics and control schemes, ensure CEM compliance, and assist in plant operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations and/or maintenance of major power plant equipment
  • Experience with digital control systems
  • Massachusetts Second Class Fireman License or ability to obtain
  • Sound and orderly record-keeping skills
  • Ability to read one-line engineering, PID, and electrical drawings and schematics
  • Ability to distinguish colors and climb ladders with safety harnesses

Working Environment

The position may require working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and is on-call status will be required. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a complex, high-pressure, production-oriented environment and effectively communicate with all plant personnel, clients, and outside representatives.
