About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Swanway, our independent Supported Living Service in Gateshead. As a Relief Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and other support needs to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to service users, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Administer medication and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users, understanding their unique needs and preferences.
  • Contribute to general administrative duties and housing management tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the service.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a positive and supportive team environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of twelve months experience of supporting people with learning disabilities. You must demonstrate a 'can-do approach', person-centred values, energy, and commitment. A strong work ethic and duty of care are essential, as well as the ability to contribute to a positive team approach.
